A forward-thinking, strategic leader, Lindahl has rapidly advanced in his career since joining AMC in 2011 as an account administrator. He was promoted to account manager just a year later before relocating to the East Coast. He returned to AMC in 2017 as a senior operations manager, was promoted to executive director of the International Transplant Nurses Society (ITNS) in 2019, and attained his Certified Association Executive designation later that year.

According to AMC CEO Steve Smith, “Joe is clearly dedicated to serving healthcare associations, and we are very proud to have him at AMC. He has consistently shown excellent leadership, knowledge, innovation, and passion for our client partners, and his role with ABM will be no different.”

Dave Bergeson, AMC Vice President of Client Relations and interim executive director of ABM, says, “I am very pleased for Joe to take over as ABM’s executive director. With his collaborative, focused, and inclusive leadership style, Joe is well-equipped to succeed in his new role.”

A 2018 Association Forum and USAE Forty Under 40 award recipient, Lindahl is a champion of leadership development. In between his roles at AMC, Joe served as a strategic initiatives program manager at The Child Life Council, Inc. and as a regional council and chapters senior manager at the American Staffing Association. In the past few years, he has volunteered at ASAE as a Component Relations Section Council Member, a Gold Circle Judge, and most recently as a Young Professionals Advisory Committee Member.

About his new role, Joe says, “It is a great honor to be ABM’s executive director. The work that we do here at AMC, with ABM, ITNS, and all of our client partners, truly matters on an international, macro, and micro level. I enjoy contributing to missions that truly matter and serving associations such as ITNS and ABM support professions and practice around the globe.” Lindahl began his role with ABM on April 13 and will continue to serve as the executive director of ITNS.
