PMG’s Senior Meetings Mangers, Kelly Phy, CMP, and Jessica Nickerson, have obtained their Pandemic Meeting & Event Design Certificate. This certificate establishes knowledge is the current pandemic environment and maps new ways to prepare an event strategy, design, and execution. From risk management to venue protocols; contract clauses to user experience; food and beverage to marketing, it covers the areas most impacted by the pandemic to help develop and design well-informed, future-forward events.

“I feel incredibly lucky to work for a company that not only understands the need for, but encourages continuing education opportunities for staff, especially during such a time of change and uncertainty,” said Kelly Phy. “In addition to the valuable information shared during the pandemic courses, the class included homework assignments that were discussed each week during a live, informal discussion session.  The course also offered a discussion board for all participants. Being able to discuss and collaborate with planners from all different backgrounds was invaluable.  It was incredible to hear the different ideas as well as personal experiences they have had.”

When asked about earning her certification, Jessica Nickerson stated “In the current state of the world, everything is continuously evolving and requires us as not only humans but employees to constantly grow and learn with it. I find myself incredibly lucky to work for a company who not only supports employees in growing professionally but takes what employees learned and implements it operationally into the company. The meetings industry has altered drastically since the start of COVID and being able to connect with planners from across the country to network, see what next steps they are taking and bounce ideas off of each other was so refreshing. As we look ahead, we need fresh ideas, a strong network and a sense of security on how to navigate the unknown. This course provided the tools to make me feel anchored in a time of uncertainty.”
